Welcome!

The Hancock Central School District is participating in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for this year.  All children at HCS will receive meals/milk at no charge, regardless of household income.

We encourage you to complete the form below and return to Nicole Bowen in the Cafeteria.  This form can determine eligibility for additional State and Federal program benefits that your child(ren) may qualify for.  It can also provide additional support for future school funding. Please click on the form below to get a printable copy.

Students Eating Lunch
Children need healthy meals to learn!
All Hancock Central School District students are eligible to receive one breakfast and one lunch at no cost to families every regular school day during the 2023-2024 school year.

No-cost meals are possible this school year as HCSD participates in the USDA Food and Nutrition Service’s National School Lunch and Breakfast programs. Additional meals and a la carte food items (milk, snacks, etc.) must be purchased on site or through online prepayments via MySchoolBucks.com.

Although no fees or forms are required for students to receive one no-cost breakfast and one no-cost lunch per school day, parents/guardians are strongly encouraged to complete and return a Community Eligibility Provision Household Income application to help determine the amounts of other funds that benefit HCSD students.

If you have questions or would like more information, please call 607-637-1320.
A new way to pay for student meals!
Hancock Central School District families may pay for extra student meals and a la carte food items through the MySchoolBucks program during the 2023-2024 school year.

Parents/guardians can make one-time or recurring payments, view student balances and track cafeteria purchases any time on the MySchoolBucks website or mobile app (iOS and Android).

Parents can pay at any time with a credit/debit card. There is a fee of $2.75 for each transaction. Newcomers can create free accounts online at www.myschoolbucks.com.

HCSD also will continue to accept traditional payments for student meals (i.e. cash, checks). For more information, click on the link above or call HCSD Food Service Director Connie Babino at 607-637-1320.

NY Thursdays
The New York Thursdays program is a statewide initiative to increase the availability of locally-sourced foods (such as milk, cheese and yogurt) for school meals. These meals will be offered 1-2 Thursdays each month, with our first one taking place on Thursday, September 21st!

This program helps students learn about how much of what they eat comes from our local farms and dairies. The program also enables a way to connect schools with local farms and food producers to strengthen agriculture, promote regional food system awareness and improve student health!
