HCSD Statement on Lockout Procedures
At approximately 8:32 am, working in concert with the New York State Police, Hancock Central School Officials confirmed that an ongoing investigation with potential implications for an elementary school student would necessitate the abrupt cancelation of morning program and subsequent implementation of a lockout protocol. The lockout protocol was then initiated for the elementary and middle/high school buildings.
Upon the recommendation of the New York State Police, the lockout protocol was lifted at 9:50 am.
At the request of the District, the New York State Police and the Delaware County Sheriff’s Department will be making frequent drive-throughs on school property throughout the day.
